I first discovered beekeeping after watching YouTube videos and was instantly captivated by how amazing and important these little creators are. The more I learned the more I realized I couldn’t resist getting involved myself. What started as curiosity quickly grew into a passion for supporting bees and sharing their incredible world with others.

Here are some of the facts that just blow my mind.......

Guard Bees: These vigilant protectors stand watch at the hive entrance, checking each incoming bee by scent and sight to ensure intruders don’t slip in. I do have a short clip of this on my Instagram

Waggle dance  When a scout finds a great source, she flies back to the hive and performs the waggle dance on the comb. The dance isn’t random—it’s a coded message. The angle of the waggle run tells the other bees the direction of the food relative to the sun, and the duration of the waggle indicates the distance. It’s essentially a living GPS system.

Bees don’t just make honey (obviously) They begin with nectar, carefully transforming it into something extraordinary. Once gathered, they fan their wings to remove the water, thickening the nectar into golden honey. Finally, they seal it with their own wax, protecting it for the hive.
That same wax can be shaped into candles—so bees not only feed you with sweetness, they also share their glow in your home. It’s a gift of nourishment and light, a reminder of how deeply connected we are to these incredible little creators.

Temperature. Despite freezing conditions outside, honeybees maintain the hive at around 32–35°C (about 90–95°F)—the perfect temperature for brood (developing young bees).

It’s like having a self‑sustaining central heating and air‑conditioning system powered entirely by teamwork.

Honey in Ancient Egyptian Tombs Age of the honey: Pots of honey dating back around 3,000 years were uncovered in tombs, including the Valley of   the Kings and Tutankhamun’s burial site.
Condition: Despite the passage of time, the honey was intact and edible, thanks to its natural preservation qualities.

Thank you for reading—hopefully you’ll join us as we continue to evolve and grow.
